Will History Remember?

I once heard the parrots in a neighbor’s main lobby whisper that legacy is for the blind. I tried to reason like I always do with species beneath human best intelligence. But then, I was so furious I want to get into the discussion and have a debate like one of them “fellas”.

The unthoughtful may choose to forget, the careless care less anyways, the hardened may block reasoning, or newbies become blind to the sacrifices of past heroes but history will never forget those who fought hard for what we all enjoy even if taken for granted. Time passes all and moments speed by our notice but history will always remember those who fought hard, not the chickens.

If you were to go on a date with history, will history remember how hard you fought or care less because you are always looking for the easy. How hard are you fighting for your career, marriage, family, kids, spouse, community, nation, humanity? How hard are you fighting for your life?

The vanguard and the main fleet have rolled in formation and drown in one swoop at the steaming roaring currents but the anchor ship steers steeply across the rising currents. You are left alone and dry in the center of the whirlpool. You are caught off position, with no reinforcement, supplies, cannons and arms. How do you hold the fort? All the women, children and peasants in the homeland are counting on you. How do you defend the city as last man standing? Your stars are counting on you.

Likewise in life we often found ourselves bereft and left with no options, no scintilla of grace, nor echo of help. You are outstripped, have no more map to read and all lifeline exhausted. After you have done all you can, keep standing rather submit and surrender to that mediocrity, abuse, victimization or ill. You can do better, I can do best, and we can all better our best. I hope history will one day remember how hard we fought and see us as men and women who chose not to give up nor give in but gave all.

I challenge myself, accept the challenge, defend the fort till your last breath, I rather die trying than not to have try once more. I shall continue to crave for a change and activate positive procession. Brothers lets stand formation, blessed souls of the sisterhood remain solid and lets battle on knowing fully well we died for a cause. One day history will remember how hard we fought.
