The Little Guy

The little guy finds a family.
He found trouble at a young age.
He was mocked for his looks.
He was ignored as a middle child.
Who is looking out for the little guy?

He managed to attend school.
He was in pain, but no one cared.
He was ridiculed every recess.
He was bullied for being different.
Who is looking out for the little guy?

He started to become a man.
He was expected to show, but no one showed.
Adolescence caught up with him, but he was behind.
He had a gift no one wanted.
Who is looking out for the little guy?

He became the family diamond—
All bright, but no one wanted him to shine.
He was used, and only one cared.
The one who cared passed to glory.
Who is looking out for the little guy?

He became a family man.
He was working; he was adulting.
He thought he had found his heart of gold.
But all that glitters is not gold.
Who is looking out for the little guy?

He is wrestling with life—
Pain upon pain,
Distress upon distress,
Trouble upon trouble.
Who is looking out for the little guy?

The little guy hears the noise.
The little guy feels the betrayal.
The little guy knows the pain.
The little guy shows up anyway.
Who is looking out for the little guy?

The little guy is abused.
The little guy suffers.
The little guy struggles.
The little guy accepts fate.
Who is looking out for the little guy?

No one cares to hear the little guy.
No one tries to help the little guy.
No one wants to love the little guy.
No one dares to know the little guy.
No one is looking for the little guy.

Dear Future Me

You have work to do, so do it
You are going to get hurt but forgive
You will be talked about but ignore
You will be misunderstood but press on
You will be attacked but you will prevail
You will be rich but stay humble
You may be discouraged but you can’t quit
You may lack but don’t steal
You may be disrespected but you can’t lose your honor
You may lose friends but the end is better
Keep doing good, you will not lose your reward

Selfishness is Good Business

image

The journey of life is not complete in the entirety of its existence when apt privileges fail to serve its very purpose. The long drive to be successful and accomplished is deeply in-grained in the human DNA, whether it is for the better or worse of the lot. Regardless, the glory of self comes to play in the theatre of dreams.

Selfishness is often seen as a dark expression of oneself over the common good. In some school of thoughts, it is seen as the root cause of the ills in the society. At the tail end of all contemporary issues we face in the world, you’ll trace scintilla of self coming to play big time. Terrorism, corruption, crime, scam, homicide and abuse; all emanated from the selfish ideology of some few. (more…)

The cry of a new born brings joy to the family

I have been armed with anxiety since the news

My bundle of joy, I patiently await you

Both your mother and I are counting

Relishing the magical feeling of holding you

Your arrival is being prepared many days ahead (more…)

RIP To My Mentor: Dr Myles Munroe

Myles_MunroeWords can’t express how heartbroken am I when I heard the tragic news about one of my mentors. His books, tapes and teachings have inspired me. It was confirmed he died on a plane crash enroute global leadership forum, Bahamas. Among people in the plane was his wife, daughter and seven other passengers.

The Bahamas Tribune reports that;

The plane reportedly struck a crane at the Grand Bahama Ship Yard, exploding on impact and crashing into the ground near a junkyard area.

#The Department of Civil Aviation reported that the plane was a Lear 36 executive jet which departed the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) for the Grand Bahama International Airport.

#The plane left LPIA at 4.07pm with nine people on board and crashed while making an approach for landing at Grand Bahama International Airport at 5.10pm, the Department of Civil Aviation said.

Dr. Myles Munroe (20 April 1954 – 9 November 2014) was the president and founder of the Bahamas Faith Ministries International (BFMI) and Myles Munroe International (MMI), a Christian growth and resource center that includes leadership training institutes, a missions agency, a publishing company, a television network, radio and Web communications, and a church community.
