I Am Running For President

running for president

Governance in the 21st century has become a playground for who has the ball rolling. There was a time in the world where we were all ruled by a sect. The selected few had to come from a given family name and history. It has nothing to do about the “best hand of rule” but the willful sovereignty of the sect. As the human race evolved through civilization and modernization, the Greek first demonstrated representative democracy in the 6th century as a political system of government.

Centuries past by, new world leaders have emerged from Egypt to Italy to England to Germany and now United States of America. Apparently as the lion of the western world, America has been characterized as the main proponent of democracy in the rule of nations. Concurrently we have a political system that is always ready to provoke change and challenge the norm. What could not have been possible in ages past is fast becoming living realities.

A man whose lineage charts from the shores of Kenya, an African country located on the equator with the Indian Ocean has become the leader of the free world. Obama currently presides over the lion of western world. He is the president, a very diplomatic terrain as the current world leader compared to steel and iron rule of Alexander the great, Julius Caesar, Napoleon and Hitler. With this undertaking, many have desired to ascend unto same throne. If Obama who could as well pass as a commoner in the empire days sit on throne, then it is an open playground for anyone who can get the ball rolling.

In recent past, I have never looked at the credentials of those running for the office of president, as this is mostly driven by party politics and campaign theatrics. As No. 44 leaves office and election period approaches, many has resurfaced with their ambitions to win the 58th quadrennial US presidential election to claim the most coveted throne of power. In particular I noticed real estate investor Donald Trump and Hip Pop Act Kanye West signaling their interest vying for the seat of government. To my bewilderment, are we going to be having another The Apprentice in the White House with usual Trump sly comments or another Taylor Swift moment courtesy of the West’s public rant?

I am a fan of these individuals that have created something for themselves, I am no judge but I am just voicing my concerns. How come people who have yet to govern themselves in the most courteous manner seek such to govern the world? Could they win? The pillars of government and qualification to run office of such magnitude have changed over the years. I can imagine social media having a big impact on who gets votes than who has the right civil polity that can advance the ruled. There was a time that anyone with a divorce history, scandalous past or controversial ideology could not be considered as heir to the throne in England. Howbeit, men who are struggling to manage successfully their emotions, let alone their family and private life can pronounce running for president of the world.

I am not smoking cannabis but I have decided running for president. From where, to where? Yes, I am running for president. I am running for the president of my life. I am running to save my marriage, I am running to save my name, I am running to save my career, I am running to save my family, I am running to save my community, I am running to save me. May be if then, I can consider running for president of the nation. I have to run for the president of me first and be successful at it.
