Letter To My Unborn Child

Letter

The cry of a new born brings joy to the family

I have been armed with anxiety since the news

My bundle of joy, I patiently await you

Both your mother and I are counting

Relishing the magical feeling of holding you

Your arrival is being prepared many days ahead

Some days your mother and I sit to discuss about you

Like, whose resemblance? A boy or a girl?

Heaven knows!

We even cast lot on your scan results

There is always a first time

Heaven is in no hurry, earth cannot wait

Every now and then, you kick your mum

She twinges and smile,

Oh! My baby is just playing with me

She sometimes say you guys discuss

I feel jealous for such experience

We shall discuss ‘our own’ when we meet

What shall be my first reaction?

Laugh or cry? Probably both at some point

At first, I might do some ‘funny’ …

Check the colors of your eyes

And then count your hair lines

Measure your nose, ears and lips

Since the news of your coming

What a special moment for us

We may not have all the things we want

But you are the one desire of your parents

Your light shines across the streets

The days of our lives forever is blessed

I already volunteered to take your first bath

I can’t wait to change your diapers

Probably you nut like your father

I am waiting for your first cry

Then the thoughts of staying up late,

It’s all the dream of your father

Sweet, you make my dream come true

Then that day comes, when you’ll say ‘papa’

Not sure what my reaction will be

Laughter or trying to hold back tears of joy

You’re simply my miracle

Your timing is right

Few weeks till your arrival

Your mother and I were like ‘it’s almost time’

Let the day come swiftly

The day comes, your day comes

Our days will forever be filled with joy

We can’t wait to meet you pumpkin.
